I buy books faster than I can read them. I know I’m going to read them… eventually. Plus there is always a new book out that just looks interesting, so I pick it up and I add it to the stack. And I do it again, and again, and again until suddenly there’s a book at the bottom of the pile I bought months ago and still haven’t opened.
So I’ve decided October is going to be my stack buster month. By the end of it, all of the books in my physical To Be Read stack will be finished. (My digital TBR stack is a problem for future me). The goal is to read all the books on this list before the clock strikes twelve on Halloween. Trick or treat, give me something good to read?
What are y’all reading this month?
Excited About:
The City We Became — I picked up this book for two reasons. One was the cover. The other was that the idea that people becoming the living embodiments of their neighborhood was is just such an interesting prospect. Then the cashier couldn’t stop raving about it as she checked me out, so I can’t wait to fully dive into this book.
Anxious People — I have not heard one bad word about this book. I’ve only heard that people love it and it will make me cry.
Queen’s Peril — Queen’s Shadow is by far one of my favorite Star Wars novels, so I have high hopes for the follow-up prequel.
When No One is Watching — It’s October, how could I not be excited about reading a thriller/horror that everyone else seems to love as well!
Looking Forward To:
Kind of A Big Deal — The cover for this book is just so fun, and the premise seems to be just as playful. I love disappearing into a fun YA romp for a bit. It never fails to make the day better.
The Vanishing Half — I didn’t have the money to pick this book up back when everyone was reading it, so I’m glad I get to see what all the hype is about this month.
Intrigued By:
Woven In Moonlight — The cover design of the book is 92 percent the reason I bought it, but the synopsis has me intrigued.
Paranormalcy — I got this book off the Blind Date With A Book at 2nd and Charles, and it looks like one of those cheesy fantasy dramas I devoured as a teenager like they were water in the desert. I’m interested to see what my opinion on the genre is now that I’m older.
